Redesigned and Rebranded

For a rebranding project at Salisbury University, I was prompted to rebrand an existing food or beverage product. For this project, I needed to redesign the brand logo and labels for three of the product flavors. I chose to redesign and revamp Sweet Baby Ray's Barbecue Sauce, including the Honey, Sweet 'N Spicy, and Hawaiian Barbecue Sauce flavors. Using these original and spectrum of flavors, I wanted to show the range of product and what each flavor represents for the company.

While redesigning the logo and package labels for Sweet Baby Ray's, I was thinking about giving the brand a more modern feel. The original logo and packaging is very simplistic with a very generic layout. While still keeping true to the original idea, I was able to give the packaging more of a modern feel and increased visual interest. I was able to accomplish this throughout the use of color, illustration, and typesetting. Each label has different colors and pattern coordinating with the different flavors, making it very appeasing to the eye and interesting in their own way. Each bottle now stands on it's own as it's own color palette and usage.

For the redesigned Sweet Baby Ray's logo, I chose to use a sans serif woodcut typeface. This type face brings a innovative and recharged feel to the brand. By stacking the name of the brand, I was able to create a rectangular shaped logo that will easily fit into different spaces. I chose to keep the color of the logo black so it will easily go with the colors that coordinate with the different flavors while keeping enough contrast to visually separate the logo from the rest of the information on the package.
