In my beginning sculpture class, I was prompted to create a sculpture using found objects. I found an old Schwinn bicycle and decided to build a bull using only parts from the bike. I took inspiration from Picasso's Bull's Head when creating this work.
In order to put together and fasten the pieces to create this work, I had to weld. This was the first time I had ever welded. While learning this skill, it sparked an interest in welding and metal working.
This work was placed in my home garden in the beginning of the 2020 spring semester. I was hoping that the ivy that constantly overtook the fences would eventually start to wrap around and grow on the work. By the summer of 2020 it had done so!
